DYING AND DEATH IN POLISH LANGUAGE ORTHODOX PRINTED TEXTS AUTHORED BY THE MEMBERS OF KIYV-MOHYLA ACADEMY This article deals with the Polish lexis in semantic field of and conceptualizations death as represented Orthodox hagiographies miracula collections. The analysis includes following three text collections: H. Denisowicz’s Parergon cudów świętych [Parergon Miracles Saints] (1638), A. Kalnofojski’s Teratourgēma lubo cuda... [Teratourgēma, that is Miracles...] (1638) S. Kossow’s Paterikon abo zywoty… [Patericon, lives...] (1635). lexical under was further divided to subcategories addressing e.g. cause (zabić [kill], zamordować [murder], obwiesić się [hang oneself]), killer (bratomorderca [fratricide]), or relationship between victim (oycozaboystwo [patricide]). concentrates predominantly on death, such a road, farewell, crossing borderline, salvation / condemnation, dream. These are presented against background Old literary tradition.
